VT Tragedy

April 21st, 2007

Yes, I went to school at Virginia Tech, where the recent tragedy occurred. I’m here in Asia and got the news a few days late, and i really don’t know what to say. The guy who shot and killed 32 others on Monday, April 16, was not … well …. and i feel for the families and those in Blacksburg who are coping with the tragedy. Thankfully events like this do not happen very often, but they definitely bring out the humanity in many of us. You can read many details from VT’s tragedy page., including a timeline of events. That is all.

hopefully this enables all of us americans to rejoice in our 2nd amendment rights. BTW, amendments are _exactly_ the mechanism intended to correct previous errors… including previous amendments.

    amen(dment) to that, brother!

My absolute favorite Fox News response to the tragedy was one guy who said “we shouldn’t use this tragedy as a platform for jumping into rash new gun control legislation” and then followed that up 2 minutes later by saying “i think this tragedy shows us that we need to loosen current gun restrictions b/c had some of the other students been carrying guns at the time they could have shot this psychopath before he ended so many innocent lives.”

Wow. That’s some next-level logic, eh?
